Masters: athletes must be 30 or older on the first day of competition. Masters men and women run 4km with a 36 minute national cut-off, in 5-year age groups from 30 up to 75+. Masters entries are submitted by Australian Masters Athletics, and Masters athletes collect their bibs from the Masters Team Manager.
Para: all para-athlete entries need a current provisional or full National Level Classification or higher. Classifications accepted are T01, T11-T13, T20, T35-T38 and T44-T46. Para events are 3km (2km for Under 13), and two athletes per team score. A separate Para teams championship runs only if at least three teams are confirmed for an age group. Para Under 13 is only run if there is enough interest, in which case it is combined with another race.
Guides: T11 athletes run with a guide and T12 athletes may choose to. Guides are tethered under WPA Rule 6.15 and wear a high visibility vest, which is available from the Call Room. Athletes bring their own tether.

Asthma medication: athletes in all age groups who have been medically prescribed asthma medication may take it with them to the Call Room and then onto the course. They must tell the Call Room Manager or officials their bib number before leaving the Call Room for their event.
First aid: first aid is set up at the finish line area for anyone needing treatment. Each team manager should hold a copy of emergency contact information for every athlete in their team and carry their own first aid kit.
After the race: at the end of each event, athletes must pass immediately through Post Event Control near the finish line. Sport Integrity Australia may conduct anti-doping testing. An athlete with other duties, such as interviews or presentations, should sign the acknowledgement and ask the chaperone to wait.
