Queglet is a public directory of questions and answers. This page explains what information we handle when you read, publish or use the site. For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@queglet.com.
Accounts and confirmation emails
You can read public answers without an account. When you sign in using an available Google or Facebook sign-in option, we receive the profile information that provider shares, such as your name, email address, profile picture and account identifier. We store account and session records, including provider credentials returned during sign-in, to recognise you and protect access to your content. Queglet does not receive your Google or Facebook password.
We use your email address to send a confirmation link through Resend and record whether you have confirmed it. The link expires after 24 hours. Sending a replacement invalidates the previous link. Sign-in and security cookies help keep your session working.
What you publish is public
Collection names, descriptions, tags, questions and answers are public. Anyone with a link can read and share them, and search engines or connected tools may access them. Avoid publishing private information about yourself or others. We store your content with your account identifier and creation and update times so you can manage it.
If you create access tokens for connected tools, we store the token name, a short identifying prefix, a protected fingerprint and usage times. A tool you give a token can act on your collections. You can revoke tokens in your account settings.
Votes and browser storage
When you vote on whether an answer is helpful, we set a random voting cookie to remember your vote without requiring sign-in. It is set to last up to 400 days, although your browser may remove it sooner. We store a protected fingerprint of this cookie with your vote, rather than the cookie value. Vote totals are public. You can select your vote again to remove it.
To limit repeated voting, we also use a protected fingerprint of your internet connection address. The voting limit records do not store the original address. Your chosen light or dark appearance is saved in your browser. You can clear cookies and browser storage in your browser settings; doing so may sign you out and remove remembered preferences or votes from your browser, but does not delete votes already stored on our service.
Reports about answers
If you report an answer, we send your reason, the question, its collection and a link to the answer to privacy@queglet.com for review. You do not need an account or an email address to report. To limit repeated submissions, we store a protected fingerprint of your internet connection address with the time of the request. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in a report.
Analytics used today
We use PostHog on the live site to understand visits and how people use questions and answers. It receives page addresses and titles, page visits and departures, question openings, and related details such as collection names, question text and whether the viewer owns the collection. Page addresses can include search terms or other information in the address. PostHog also uses browser identifiers, cookies and browser storage, and receives technical information such as browser, device and internet connection details.
Session recording and automatic capture of clicks and typed text are disabled. Our analytics code does not explicitly identify visitors by their account name or email address. Read the PostHog privacy policy for information about its handling of data.
Optional artificial intelligence suggestions
When you ask for suggested questions, answers or tags, relevant collection details, existing questions, answer excerpts and any request or draft you provide are sent through Vercel’s artificial intelligence gateway to Google’s Gemini model. This can include draft text you have not published. Use these features only with information you are comfortable sending to those services. Suggested content becomes public when you choose to save it.
Advertising
Queglet loads the Google AdSense script to connect the site to Google and display any applicable privacy choices. Advertisements may appear after Google approves the site and advertising is enabled. Loading the script may share technical information about your browser and visit with Google.
If advertisements are shown, Google and other advertising vendors may use cookies to show advertisements based on visits to Queglet and other websites. Google’s advertising cookies allow it and its partners to personalise advertisements using that browsing activity. You can manage or turn off Google’s personalised advertising in Google’s advertising settings. Learn more about how Google uses information from partner sites and read the Google privacy policy.
Service providers
We use Vercel for hosting, Neon for database storage, Resend for confirmation and answer-report emails, PostHog for analytics, and the sign-in and suggestion services described above. They process information needed to provide those services and may process it outside your country. Hosting services also handle technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site. Links to other websites lead to services with their own privacy practices.
Keeping information and your choices
Account records, published content and votes are stored to run the service. You can edit or delete content you own, remove your votes and revoke access tokens. You can also close your account. This deletes your profile, sign-in connections, sessions, confirmation records, personal access tokens, and the guides and questions you created. It also removes votes associated with the voting cookie in the browser you use to close your account.
Anonymous votes made from other browsers cannot be matched to your account and are not removed automatically. Deleting public content from Queglet cannot remove copies that others have saved or search engines have cached. For questions about information held by service providers or how long particular information is held, contact us.
To ask for access, correction or deletion of your personal information, or to raise a privacy concern, email privacy@queglet.com. We may need to verify that a request relates to your account. Please include the relevant page address when asking about information in a public answer.
