General weigh-in: cadet, junior and senior athletes weigh in between 10:00 and 12:00 Atlantic Time on the day before their competition day. There are no exemptions to the weigh-in time. Athletes get two attempts to make weight before the period ends. Juniors are weighed wearing underwear, and 100 grams is allowed to compensate. Athletes need photo identification (event accreditation works; additional ID such as a passport, driver's licence or school ID may be requested if the accreditation photo is outdated). A test scale is provided one hour before.
Random weigh-in: held on the morning of the competition day, with plus 5% tolerance of the weight category and one attempt. Selected athletes must be at the weigh-in area at 8:00 Atlantic Time or they are disqualified. Lists are published at 6:30 Atlantic Time. Junior heavyweights (female +68 kg, male +78 kg) are not selected. The number picked depends on the division size: over 32 athletes, 20% of the total; 17 to 32, six athletes; 9 to 16, four; 5 to 8, two; 4 or fewer, none.
Weight changes: accepted by emailing events@taekwondo-canada.com until January 23, 2026 at 17:00 Eastern, with no exceptions afterwards.

The 2026 National Championships information package restricts head contact only in younger divisions: youth divisions have no head contact, and cadet divisions use face shields fitted to the head protectors. It places no such restriction on junior divisions. For all kyorugi, it says the latest published World Taekwondo Kyorugi Competition Rules and Interpretation apply, and the electronic scoring system (KPNP K2) includes a head protector.
