Age is worked out by the year of the event, not your birthday on the day. For the Youth Championships, the 2026 handbook says:
The Under 19, Under 21 and Under 23 divisions are in the separate Australian Junior Volleyball Championships (9 to 12 July 2026), with the same year-of-the-event method.
The 2026 Volleyball Australia event handbook says all players must:
The Youth Championships is a closed tournament reserved for member association teams, and all teams must be affiliated or endorsed by their member association. Players in the National Program must get written endorsement from their member association of origin before trialling for any team.
Playing while ineligible can bring sanctions for each match, including fines, forfeiture of results, loss of competition points, removal from medal contention and suspension from the event.
The 2026 Youth Champs has ten age/gender divisions: Under 14, Under 15, Under 16, Under 17 and Under 18, each for girls and boys. Entries were capped at ten teams per division, and a division needs at least five teams (otherwise it may be merged into the division above or dissolved).

The 2026 handbook sets two substitution limits per set:
Under the twelve substitution rule:
Under the FIVB Official Volleyball Rules 2025-2028, a substitution request cannot be followed by another consecutive request in the same interruption, and there must be a completed rally between two substitution requests by the same team (except for forced substitutions for injury or expulsion).
Youth Championships (2026 handbook): each team may designate up to two liberos from the players on the score sheet. Liberos designated at the start of a match are liberos for the whole match, and the coach can change them between matches only, not during a match.
Under the FIVB Official Volleyball Rules 2025-2028:
Under the FIVB Official Volleyball Rules 2025-2028:

Under the 2026 handbook:
During pool play, teams earn competition points:
Teams level on competition points are separated in this order:
A team must have at least six players to start or continue a match. If a team has fewer because of injury, illness, disqualification or expulsion, it forfeits the remaining points and sets.
If the Volleyball Australia Heat Mitigation Policy is used, the 2026 handbook says:
The Tournament Control Committee decides the level of reduction. A change to scoring is never made during a match in progress, and only after all teams have been told before the first point is played.
