How do I become a National Technical Official (NTO)?

The National Technical Official level (also World Triathlon Level 1) is run by Triathlon Canada. According to the Triathlon Canada officials page, the steps are:

1. Meet Triathlon Canada's eligibility criteria.
2. Get a nomination from your provincial sport organization (PSO).
3. Pass the NTO course and exam. The course is two days in person, or three if combined with an event.
4. Complete assessments at a Canadian National Championships and at a World Triathlon event, usually a Continental Cup or World Cup.

NTOs revalidate every four years through the World Triathlon NTO online recertification.
