Under the SSA 2025-2026 competition rules:
- Only accredited team managers may lodge objections or complaints, or withdraw swimmers. Parents and swimmers can't lodge a protest themselves.
- A protest must be written, accompanied by R1,000, and lodged with the Referee within 30 minutes of the disqualification being published or announced.
- In the case of a dispute, the Referee's decision is final.
