What do I need for my time to count for national team selection or World Athletics rankings?

Athletics Canada's Road Race Sanctioning and Course Measurement Certification Policy (March 2026) says a World Athletics International Course Measurement Certificate AND World Athletics Sanctioning are required for performances to be recognized for National Team selection, World Athletics Rankings, Records and Entry Standards.

The Athletics Canada sanctioning page adds that results from events that did not apply to World Athletics "will not be recognized by World Athletics", and that road events must be held on properly measured courses with an International Measurement Certificate valid on race day.
