Age categories recognized for men and women:

| U13 | 10-12 |
| U15 | 13-14 |
| U17 | 15-16 |
| U19 / Junior | 17-18 |
| U23 / Espoirs | 19-22 |
| Senior / Elite | 19+ |
Masters (men and women) start at 35. Age is counted as of 31 December of the competition year. Downhill, 4X and enduro have no U23 category.
