- Referees
Players may appeal any officiating decision to the Head Referee or Tournament Director (Rule 20.J):
| Outcome | Result |
|---|---|
| Head Referee/TD agrees with you | Technical warning and a standard time-out charged to the challenging side; a technical foul if no time-out is left (20.J.2) |
| Head Referee/TD disagrees | You reverse the ruling or order a replay, as appropriate (20.J.3) |
| Player withdraws the request after you've acknowledged it | Standard time-out charged; technical foul if none is left (20.J.1) |
Players can't remove you themselves. If all players agree, they may petition the Tournament Director to remove a referee (Rule 20.L). You may remove a line judge for reasonable cause, or when all players request it. If you disagree with the players' request, summon the TD for a final decision (Rule 20.K).
