The national alpine officials' program has four levels of Officials. After Level 1, each level requires specific practical experience before you move on:
- Level 1: entry-level course giving an overall introduction to race organization and the various Officials positions.
- Level 2: a detailed introduction to alpine ski racing and the roles and duties of the various Officials positions. Specific practical experience is required.
- Level 3: for Officials with considerable practical experience. Covers the duties of senior Officials, course preparation, maintenance and setting, and calculations of points and penalties.
- Level 4: the most experienced Officials, who have shown a superior level of ability. You must be recommended to the ACA Officials Working Group by the PTSO Officials Chair.
