Marking (rule 802.06): your thrown disc marks your lie where it lies. Or place a mini marker disc on the ground touching the front of your thrown disc, on the line to the target. Throwing from a lie marked any other way: warning first, then 1 penalty throw for each later marking violation in the round.
Stance (rule 802.07, consolidated for 2027) at the moment you release:
| Lie | You must |
|---|---|
| Tee | Have at least one supporting point (foot, knee, hand) inside the teeing area and none outside it |
| Marked lie | Have at least one supporting point on the lie (20 cm wide, 30 cm deep, directly behind your marker), none closer to the target than the rear of the marker, and all in-bounds |
| Within 10 meters of the target | All of the above, and no supporting point in front of the lie until you've shown full balance. No jump, step or falling putts inside 10 meters |
A stance violation is 1 penalty throw. A tee pad defines the teeing area; with no pad, it extends 3 meters behind the tee line.
