- NTRP
- 2026 rules
- Players
From the 2026 national regulations (Reg. 2.03A and the "Matches Required to Advance" table):
| To advance to | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Any championship level through Sectionals | 2 matches on the same team, at the same NTRP level and age group, in the local league season. 1 default received may count. |
| National Championships | 3 matches on the same team (1 default received may count) |
| National Championships, self-rated or computer-rated appealed players | 4 matches on the same team; no defaults count |
- Sections may require self-rated and appealed-down players to play up to 4 matches to reach championships below Nationals, and may decide whether a default counts for them.
- Retired matches count for all players.
- You also have to be otherwise eligible, including being a current USTA member through each championship stage (Reg. 1.04E(2)).
Your section may add its own rules, so check your local league regulations too.
