Which rules does ultimate in the UK use?

UK Ultimate states that ultimate in the UK and Europe is played under the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) Rules of Ultimate. The current edition is the WFDF Rules of Ultimate 2025-2028, with a separate WFDF Appendix of extra rules for championship events (game length, time limits, mixed ratio rules and similar).

• Indoor: UK Ultimate publishes its own UKU Indoor Rules of Ultimate, amended in October 2025 to reflect the WFDF Rules 2025-2028.
• Beach: WFDF publishes separate Rules of Beach Ultimate.
• UK Ultimate events such as the Tour are also played under the UKU Tournament Rules, which sit on top of the WFDF rules.

The WFDF rules allow variations for particular competitions, player numbers, ages or available space, so a league or event can change details such as game length.
