Marking infractions (Rule 18.1) are breaches by the marker (the defender counting the stall). Infractions do not stop play. Generally only the thrower calls them, by name, though any offensive player may call a double team.
| Infraction | What it means |
|---|---|
| Fast count | Counting illegally: not starting with "Stalling", counting faster than one-second intervals, or starting or resetting from the wrong number |
| Straddle | A line between the defender's feet comes within one disc diameter of the thrower's pivot point |
| Disc space | Any part of the defender is less than one disc diameter from the thrower's torso |
| Wrapping | A line between the defender's hands or arms comes within one disc diameter of the thrower's torso, or any part of the defender is above the pivot point |
| Double team | A second defender is within 3 metres of the thrower's pivot point without also guarding another attacker |
Disc space and wrapping are not infractions if caused only by the thrower's own movement. If a defender initiates non-minor contact with the thrower before the throw, the thrower may call "Contact" as an infraction; if not contested, play continues and the stall count goes back to 1.
