The 2026 Event Conditions list the teams eligible to take part:
- teams representing approved TFA State and Territory entities
- teams representing QTF and NSWTA regional entities
- teams representing Region or State-approved Affiliates
- teams representing the Australian Defence Force
- teams from other nations affiliated with the Federation of International Touch (FIT), by TFA invitation only
- any other team approved by TFA
Affiliate teams may compete with endorsement from their relevant Region or State, which must not be unreasonably withheld. All Abilities teams can represent their Region, State or Affiliate without an endorsement. International teams must be endorsed by their national body and may accrue points and contest finals in any division unless TFA decides otherwise.
TFA decides whether to accept team nominations. For 2026, final nominations were due at 5pm AEDT on Wednesday 21 January 2026, and withdrawing a team after that date carried a $200 per team late withdrawal fee.
