The Lacrosse Canada Regulations set an affiliation structure that lets players of affiliated teams compete with the higher-category team in association playdowns, provided the Member sends a list of the applicable affiliations to the national office on or before August 10.
- In the structure's table, the Junior A column lists Junior B, U19 A, U19 B and U17 as the affiliated categories.
- Unaffiliated players can play with teams of a higher category as allowed by their Member.
- Players may not affiliate U17 to Senior lacrosse.
- For Lacrosse Canada national championships, a Member's rating also matters: a Type 1 team may pick up players from a lower-category affiliated team, and a Type 2 team may pick up a maximum of three players from the same category and three from a lower-category affiliated team. A Type 3 team is an all-star or select team of registered players from the Member.
