What happens if we break the dress code?

In Bowls England national championships, breaking the dress code (above the waist, below the waist or footwear) brings Sanction K:

1. First reported instance: the player or side gets a written warning from the competition administrator about future conduct in that event.
2. A further reported instance in the same event: the player or side is disqualified, and their opponents in the next round get a walkover.

Two exceptions apply throughout the dress code: players governed by the requirements of a specific ethnic culture may wear their traditional dress, and players may wear alternative clothing or footwear for medical reasons if supported by a brief note from a healthcare professional.
