Fault Penalty Knockdown 4 faults First disobedience (refusal or run-out) 4 faults Second disobedience 8 faults Third disobedience Elimination Error of course Elimination Fall of horse or rider Elimination Exceeding the time limit Elimination Not jumping the first fence within 60 seconds of the countdown starting (or 2 minutes of the bell if there's no countdown) Elimination Not jumping the next fence within 45 seconds Elimination Where Pony Club rules don't cover something, competitions are judged under British Showjumping rules. Where both cover the same point, the Pony Club rule takes precedence.
