The 2025-2026 SSA competition rules set these charges:
| Situation | Charge |

| Withdrawal at the Team Managers' Meeting | Free |
| Withdrawal later than 1 hour before the start of the evening session before the heats | R200 per event |
| No-show for a heat or final (including an alternate who doesn't report for a final) | R300, and the swimmer can't swim another event until it's paid |
| Referee rules a swimmer deliberately false started or didn't swim to their ability | R500, and the swimmer is withdrawn from all further events in that session, including relays |
| Late entry between entry closing and corrections closing | 3 times the normal entry fee |
| Late entry at the Team Managers' Meeting (the last chance) | 10 times the normal entry fee |
Withdrawals from finals must be made before the end of the heats session, or as the Referee announces.
