Call-ups (section 4.5):
- A club must notify OBA in writing at least 48 hours before the game or event, and only if the older team cannot meet the minimum number of players for its age group.
- Only younger players from the same club can be called up. Older players cannot play down: a U14 player cannot be called up to a U13 team.
- A player can be called up to an older team within the club for a maximum of one sanctioned tournament or four sanctioned games, not a combination of both. A player who exceeds that must play up for the rest of the season.
- Temporary call-ups cannot be used for the OBA Championships.
Teams playing up: a team may, with approval from the tournament host and Ontario Basketball, play in one sanctioned tournament at an older age group. A team that plays more than one must play at the higher age level for the rest of the season, including at the Ontario Basketball Championships.
Mixed teams: boys and girls may play on the same team in every age category, but the team must compete in the boys' division.
