Under NFL FLAG equipment rules, players bring:
- An official NFL FLAG belt and flags. The flags can't be the same color as the player's shorts or pants.
- A mouth guard, worn at all times on the field.
- Shoes. Cleats may not be allowed at some fields (the league or site decides), and cleats with exposed metal are never allowed.
- Shorts or pants without pockets or belt loops are recommended. Games won't be delayed for a player to tape their pockets.
Footballs are provided.
Allowed: tape on forearms, hands and fingers; gloves; elbow and knee pads; headbands or winter beanies; soft-shell helmets, halos and sunglasses if secured; prescription glasses (no strap needed).
Not allowed: jewelry, hats, and braces with exposed metal.
Jerseys must be tucked in if they hang below the belt line, so the flags stay visible.
