Only one age group up, with limits (UKA Rule TR3 S2):
- Under 14s may compete against Under 16s on the track, subject to the U14 distance limits and any standards set by the organiser, and in field events, using the Under 16 implements for throws.
- Under 16s may compete against Under 18s on the same basis, using the Under 18 implements.
- Apart from Open Graded competitions, Under 14s and Under 16s can't enter competitions for any older age group than that.
- In Open Graded meetings, organisers may let younger athletes race older ones, but the age-group limits on distances and events still apply.
Under 12s can't compete against Under 14s. UKA says this would not be appropriate because the restrictions that would be needed aren't in the rules.
