How does the season and finals series work?

The season has 14 rounds, with the eight SSN clubs playing each other twice, home and away. The top four teams after the home and away rounds advance to the finals series:
- Week one: major semi-final (1st v 2nd) and minor semi-final (3rd v 4th). Venues and dates are set by the League in consultation with the highest ranked team.
- Week two: preliminary final, the loser of the major semi-final against the winner of the minor semi-final.
- Week three: Grand Final, the winner of the major semi-final against the winner of the preliminary final.
