What coaching qualification do I need for my age group?

You must hold the mandatory WRU qualification for your age group before you coach it. The aspiring qualification is the WRU's recommended next step.

| U9 to U11 | Coaching Early Contact | Level 1 |
| U12 to U13 | Level 1 | Level 2 |
| U14 to U16 | Level 2 | Level 3 |
Referees also need a qualification:
- U7 and U8: WRU Tag Leaders Award
- U9 and U10: Coaching Early Contact
- U11: WRU Level 1 Award, or completion of the Coaching Early Contact course
- U12 to U16: WRU Level 1 Award
