Accreditation: each team must supply a coach accredited as an age-appropriate Foundation Coach via CoachAFL before the game. A coach or assistant coach who is not a CoachAFL member and does not hold a current Foundation Coach accreditation is not permitted to coach.
Working With Children Check (WA): a check is required when someone has an agreement to work (paid, unpaid or volunteer, written or unwritten) in child-related work and no exemption applies. Work is child-related if its usual duties involve or are likely to involve contact with a child (physical, verbal or electronic) in one of the 18 categories in the Working with Children (Screening) Act 2004. The one most used in sport is Category 12, "Club, Association or Movement". Clubs and individuals must comply with the legislation. The Department of Communities (wa.gov.au) administers the check.
Every player must also be registered and "active" in PlayHQ before playing, and the team's coaching staff must be named on the team sheet to be in the Coaches Box.
