Ontario Soccer's Soccer for Life (S4L) stream has two outdoor leagues that start at U13:
- District Recreational League: U13 through Open Age, described as large-scale house league environments.
- District Competitive League: U13 through Open Age. Teams can move up to a Regional League under promotion and relegation rules set each season. Competitive S4L players may be required to train two to three times a week in addition to matches, and travel may cover an extensive area of the province.
- Regional Leagues: U14 to Open Age, which promote teams into the OSL or OWSL.
The Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) is a high-performance youth training and competition program conducted and administered by Ontario Soccer, with U13 to U17 age groups played by Licence Holder clubs:
- OPDL players cannot play in the Soccer for Life stream or its competitions, including the Ontario Cup and Ontario Indoor Cup.
- OPDL teams must train a minimum of 198 hours a year (4.5 hours a week).
- Licence Holders must field both a female and a male team in each age category in their licence unless Ontario Soccer grants dispensation.
