| Move | Points |
|---|---|
| Takedown | 3 (since 2024-25) |
| Reversal | 2 |
| Escape | 1 |
| Near fall | 2, 3 or 4, equal to the seconds near-fall criteria are held (2, 3 or 4) |
| Near fall when the defender is injured, indicates injury or bleeds after a 4-point near fall | 5 |
Also:
- Inbounds requires only one point of contact by either wrestler inside or on the boundary line (since 2024-25).
- Only one near fall is scored per pinning situation.
- A 15-point advantage is a technical fall. If it comes from a near fall (or a takedown or reversal straight into one), wrestling continues until the near-fall criteria end. Once earned, the leader can't lose the match.
- An advantage wrestler who locks or overlaps hands around the opponent's body (including with a leg in the clasp) commits a technical violation. Exceptions: the opponent has all their weight on their feet, has been lifted off the mat, or is in near-fall criteria.
- Leaving your feet and using a foot or leg to cut out an opponent's leg (a "cut-back" leg block), including from rear standing, is an illegal maneuver.
