Age is based on the year, not the birth date. An athlete's age for the whole competition year is the age they turn that year.
| Division | Ages |
|---|---|
| Dragon | 6-7 |
| Tiger | 8-9 |
| Youth | 10-11 |
| Cadet | 12-14 |
| Junior | 15-17 |
Eligibility:
- Athletes must be a US citizen or resident and a currently registered USA Taekwondo athlete member.
- World Class divisions (Cadet black belts 12-14 in this age range) are for US citizens only. Proof is a US passport, passport card or US birth certificate.
- All black belt athletes must give the tournament a copy of their Dan/Poom certificate, their current USATKD ID card and their birth certificate when they register.
- Divisions are split by gender and weight. Non-black-belt divisions can also be split by belt rank or age, and by advanced, intermediate and beginner. An athlete can only enter one weight category per event.
- The female categories follow USA Taekwondo's athlete protection and gender participation policy, which follows USOPC directives.
