The most recent published Nationals technical package is for the 2025-26 season (2026 Nordiq Canada Ski Nationals). It requires every competitor to:
- be a member in good standing of Nordiq Canada (or, if not a member, have no outstanding issues, infractions or debts with Nordiq Canada);
- hold a valid Nordiq Canada or Nordiq Canada Associate licence and have points greater than zero on the most current Canada Points List (CPL). Athletes not on the CPL can ask for an exemption in writing to the Events and Officials Manager before registration closes;
- have the official club and Division on their entry match their current racing licence;
- declare citizenship on the entry form (the burden of proof is on the athlete).
U20 and older athletes also need a FIS licence for the Continental Cup (COC) Open races.
Medals: to be eligible for Nationals medals and aggregate awards you must hold a Nordiq Canada Race Licence and be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Athletes with a foreign FIS licence, or without citizenship or permanent residence, have partial eligibility only (event or sponsor prizes, but no aggregate points). The 2026-2030 Tier 1 package keeps the same medal eligibility rule.
New for 2026-27: U16 becomes the youngest category allowed at the National Ski Championships. Limited exemptions may be considered for exceptional U14 athletes with divisional support.
