The British Cheerleading Association (BCA) follows the IASF Cheer and Dance Rules (2025-2028). BCA's competition rules and safety guidelines comply with IASF technical and safety requirements, as they apply to UK duty of care.
For 2026/27:
- Elite Cheer: IASF legality rules for Levels 1 to 7 and Non-Tumble 2.0 to 7.0, the IASF Cheer scoring system (with an expanded UK quantity chart) and the IASF deduction system.
- Prep and Novice: USASF-based scoring, with point values adjusted to match the IASF system.
- Dance: IASF Dance rules and scoring, with three panel judges focusing on technical execution, choreography, and group execution/overall effect. Dance prep divisions use USASF Dance Prep rules.
- Age grid: the SportCheer UK Unified Divisions and Age Grid, plus BCA's own solo divisions.
Performing a skill outside your division's level is penalised under the scoring guidelines.
