- Volunteers
The Code of Conduct applies to players, officials, volunteers, umpires and spectators. For volunteers the key points are:
- Follow the Spirit of Junior Football: development ahead of winning, safe, fun and fair.
- Play by the rules, accept victory and defeat gracefully, and shake hands with opponents, coaches and officials before and after the match.
- Do not swear, criticise, sledge, use derogatory language or harass anyone. Stay in control of your emotions.
- Accept the decisions of umpires and officials, never abuse an umpire (abuse is any language, behaviour or gesture intended to insult, offend, intimidate, threaten or harm), never approach one unless authorised, and never publicly criticise one. Raise concerns with the Team Manager or Club.
- In a dispute, do not confront; use the correct channel (Team Manager or Club officials).
- Reject discrimination, bullying and harassment and report incidents through the correct channels.
Breaches can bring penalties at the League's discretion. Team officials and volunteers can be shown yellow or red cards, and a club is responsible for the behaviour of its players, team officials and spectators.
