WWC Connect is an online service run through Service Victoria, introduced on 19 October 2026. For volunteers, the organisation must:
- Verify first: before you start child-related work, check your clearance with the WWC status checker (or confirm an exemption applies). This must happen before the earlier of your first day of child-related work or the day an arrangement is made.
- Connect you: once engaged, connect you through WWC Connect within 21 days (7 days for paid workers).
- Notify changes: tell the Social Services Regulator within 21 days of changes to your name or contact details.
- Keep records: keep verification evidence and engagement details for at least 7 years after the engagement ends.
- Confirm each year: for ongoing volunteers with no fixed end date, organisations are expected to confirm with each volunteer annually whether they wish to continue.
Volunteers cannot access WWC Connect or update their own details there: the organisation does it. You must add the organisations that engage you to your WWC profile during your application. Exempt workers generally do not need connecting.
