What screening do I need before I can volunteer?

- Volunteers
Every chartered Little League must, every year:
- have volunteers fill out the Little League volunteer application, and
- run a background check through JDP (J.D. Palatine). Since 2025, other background check providers aren't accepted.
The check searches the National Criminal Database, the National Sex Offender Registry, the U.S. Center for SafeSport Centralized Disciplinary Database and the Little League International Ineligible List. Anyone with an offense that would disqualify them can't take part in any Little League activity.
Little League provides each league with 125 free JDP background checks a year.
