- Umpires
- A game protest must be made at the time of the play, before the next pitch. The home plate umpire announces the outcome of the protest.
- The Protest Committee has three members: the Softball Canada Supervisor or Assistant Supervisor, the Umpire-in-Chief or Deputy Umpire-in-Chief, and an individual appointed by the Supervisor.
- The protesting team gives the committee the protest fee on its arrival: $250 at Canadian Slo-Pitch Championships and $100 at Canadian Fast Pitch Championships (cash or certified cheque). Without it the protest is void and the game continues immediately. A fee is returned if the protest is upheld.
- No protests are allowed on the rescheduling of games or the contents of a line-up card.
- Eligibility protests are separate: they go to the association representative in writing, signed by the coach or manager, before midnight of day one (before midnight of the seventh day before the championship for Men's Fast Pitch, signed by a provincial/territorial office official).
