All recognised netball in England is played to the World Netball Rules of Netball (2024 edition), with the adaptations in England Netball's Domestic Rules Guidance (January 2026, version 1).
- The guidance sets out the variations allowed at each level: national, regional, county, and local or community netball. Examples are shorter match lengths, fewer technical officials, court run-off, and Bee Netball post heights and ball size.
- Any other variation outside World Netball Rule 21 (variations for other levels of play) is not allowed. A match played with other variations doesn't count as recognised and authorised netball for England Netball membership and insurance.
- The Super Shot and tactical time-outs are only for the Netball Super League. They aren't permitted anywhere else.
- England Netball and Europe Netball umpire assessments can only take place at recognised and authorised netball.
- Rules queries go to officiating@englandnetball.co.uk.
