The National Code of Conduct and Ethics forms part of the FA Statutes and applies to all forms of football under Football Australia's (FA) jurisdiction. It applies to Constituents, which include Clubs, Players and Officials (and anyone unregistered who ought to have been registered). By registering, Team Officials agree to abide by the FA Statutes.
A Constituent must not:
- behave offensively, including offensive, obscene, abusive, provocative, indecent or insulting gestures, language or chanting;
- physically assault another person;
- provoke or incite hatred or violence;
- intimidate another person or create a hostile or unsafe environment within the sport;
- damage property in connection with a Match or Competition;
- breach the Spectator Code of Behaviour or the Terms of Admission, including involvement in spectator or crowd violence;
- endanger the safety or wellbeing of a Child or Adult at Risk in breach of FA's Safeguarding Policy, or abuse a position of power or take advantage of a relationship with a power imbalance (such as coach/player);
- unlawfully discriminate against, vilify or incite hatred towards a person because of an Attribute;
- bully (including cyber-bullying) or harass (including sexually) anyone, or victimise someone for reporting a complaint; or
- commit forgery or falsification, including giving false or inaccurate information they knew or ought to have known was false.
A Constituent is also treated as having engaged in Misconduct if they attempt it, or are complicit in, encourage, cover up or authorise another person's Misconduct.
