Under regulation 8E(1) of the Regulations for Safety Measures at Public Schools, no learner may be allowed to take part in physical activities, including sports, games or gymnastics, if:
- the principal has reason to believe the activity will be detrimental to the learner's health; or
- the parent has provided a medical certificate that prevents the learner from taking part in that activity.
Parents are also advised to tell the school in writing about a learner's medical condition, so the school can act on it.
