What must parents be told in writing before an away fixture or tour?

Regulation 8B(1) of the Regulations for Safety Measures at Public Schools says the school must give the parent of each learner going on the activity, in writing:

• the purpose of the activity;
• the nature of the activities the learners will do;
• the full itinerary, with contact details of the hosts and of the supervising educators;
• the transport, accommodation and catering arrangements;
• where applicable, that the learner needs travel documents and an inoculation certificate, and where to get them;
• that travel documents must be obtained at least seven days before departure;
• any other relevant details.
