At a full World Aquatics match, two timekeepers and two secretaries sit at the officials' table.
For matches in events that are not World Aquatics events, the same numbers are used if possible. Otherwise a match must have at least four technical officials (not counting any video assistant referee), and at least one timekeeper and one secretary at the table.
Water Polo Australia's overview says the same at its simplest: there should be a timekeeper and a secretary as a minimum, keeping accurate records of the score and fouls awarded.
