- Timekeepers
Under the NFHS scorers and timers instructions, the match timekeeper is responsible for:
- Keeping the overall time of the match.
- Recording each wrestler's accumulated time-outs for injury, blood time and head/neck/cervical column (HNC) injuries.
- Monitoring recovery time.
- Notifying the referee of any significant situation when the match is stopped, any disagreement between the official scorer and timekeeper, or a coach's request to discuss a possible error.
- Helping the referee, when asked, decide whether something happened before or after the end of a period.
- When there's no visible clock: calling out each minute to the referee, wrestlers and spectators, and showing cards with the seconds left in the last minute of each period at 15-second intervals.
