Byes (new language for 2026-27):
- A bye is not a match. Don't record it in the wrestler's match record.
- Byes don't count toward the limits of six matches per day or 10 matches in a two-day event.
- Byes may now appear after the first round, for example in round-robin pools or scramble events run through tournament software.
Dual meet weight order (since 2025-26):
- The starting weight class is set by random draw before weigh-ins, supervised by the referee or another authorized person, or the meet runs from lightest to heaviest.
- In a multi-dual event, each later dual starts one weight class above the previous round's starting weight.
Keep a running team score after each match in a dual meet.
