Road and circuit points (Youth A and Youth B events)
| Event | Points band |
|---|---|
| British National Championship | 3 |
| National Series event | 4 |
| Standard event | 5 |
For example, a Band 5 win scores 10 points, and the points go down to 1 point for 9th and 10th. Events with fewer than 10 riders award only 3, 2 and 1 points. If an event mixes open and female riders, or Youth A and Youth B, points are awarded as if each group raced separately. Go Race events and club-only events don't earn points, and points don't carry over from one year to the next.
Rankings
There are British National Youth A and Youth B rankings. Only points from events in your own category count. There are no national rankings for Youth C or younger.
Moving up to Junior
- No youth licence points in the previous year: you start as a 4th Category Junior.
- Any youth points: you start as 3rd Category.
- Top Youth A results the previous year can earn 2nd Category:
- Open riders: top 15 in the Youth A National Circuit Race Series, top 3 in a Youth A British National Road Championship, or top 10 in the Youth A national rankings.
- Female riders: top 5 in the series, top 3 in a Road or Track Youth A British National Championship, or top 5 in the rankings.
