The Member Executive Director (or their designate) will not approve a registration until they are satisfied that:
- it is fully completed in the HCR with all the required information (see the mandatory fields question); and
- the team seeking to register the player holds the player's playing rights, shown by a fully approved player transfer and fully approved trade documentation, as applicable.
Other requirements:
- Every player applying for the first time must submit proof of age satisfactory to the Member.
- The person must be an Amateur, not under suspension by Hockey Canada, any Member or any other Federation, and not a member of any MHA or team under another Federation's jurisdiction. Hockey Canada and its Members may refuse to register any person for any reason the Member considers appropriate, in absolute discretion.
- A team becomes a Registered Participant by following the registration procedures of the Member whose Geographic Subdivision it is in. The Member may accept or refuse any team's registration.
- Once registered with a team, a player stays with it until released or until a Regulation G.9 exception applies. The minimum number of registered players on teams not competing for a Regional or National Championship is set by the Member and cannot be less than 6.
- MHAs must give their Member the names and contact information of their President and Secretary each year or when they change. Junior and Senior teams must keep their Member informed of their owner, President, Secretary and at least 2 designated signing officers for releasing players.
