Rugby Canada's Match Official Development page sets out the World Rugby course pathway (15s and 7s):
- WR Level 1: designed for the beginner referee. Delivered over a single day, or as a blend of online and in-person sessions.
- WR Level 2: designed for referees looking to increase their skill and competency. Delivered over 2 days.
- WR Level 3: designed for experienced referees looking to progress. Delivered over several days alongside a competition. It is by invitation only, and applications go directly to Rugby Canada (to the Specialist of National Match Officials, whose contact details are on the page).
- Online prerequisites and course dates are on The Breakdown. Go to breakdown.rugby.ca and log in or register, using the same email as your NCCP and PlayHQ accounts. Alternatively, log in to PlayHQ, open the Accreditations tab, click "Access The Breakdown" and select your province.
