The NSWRL and ACT Judiciary Time Frame Guidelines (last modified 6 February 2025) set this weekly timeline:
- Monday 11:00am: the Match Review Committee reviews the reports and sets the charge and grading.
- Tuesday 12:00pm: the confirmed charges and grading go to NSWRL, and the Community Judiciary administrator issues the official Notice of Charge to the player's club secretary.
- Wednesday 9:00am: the club returns the Notice of Plea.
- Wednesday 10:00am: the Referees Association and tribunal members are told whether match officials must attend a hearing. If no notice is received, officials are not required to attend.
- Wednesday 12:00pm: if no Notice of Plea has been returned, a guilty plea is entered automatically.
- Thursday from 6:00pm: the tribunal hears cases where the plea is not guilty or the grading is disputed. Grade 1, 2 and 3 offences are heard online (Microsoft Teams or Zoom), and Grade 4 offences may be heard at a central venue or online.
- Friday before 5:00pm: the club receives a Notice of Outcome. All verdicts, including not guilty findings, are recorded on MySideline.
NSWRL's Judiciary FAQ says a hearing is required regardless of the plea if the offence is Grade 4, is racial, or involves match official abuse.
