The all clear is the announcement that a race result is official (Rule 1.1.3 of the NHA Rules of Racing).
Under Rule 66.3.3, the clerk of the scales tells the chief stipendiary steward that the all clear must be announced once:
- the judge has declared the result, and
- the riders of the winner and placed horses have weighed in correctly (within 0.5 kg under or 1 kg over their weighed-out weight),
whichever is later, and provided no objection that could affect Tote bets has been lodged.
After the all clear, if an error in the judge's placings is later proved, the all clear result stands for betting purposes. The error is corrected only in the records, and any affected stake money is returned for redistribution (Rule 65.8).
