What should I know about using Sail Canada's course diagrams?

- The course designators are a model. Event organizers may choose their own designators, since factors such as character limits on course boards can matter. Clarity and consistency for competitors are the main goals.
- Each diagram comes with and without mark roundings. Use the version that fits your event, or write your own mark rounding specifications if your signals differ from the norm.
- Diagrams are not to scale. Angles are accurate, but mark sizes and vessel lengths are exaggerated, and trapezoid legs may look unequal when they should be equal.
- The diagrams are copyright 2023 Robert Woodbury, licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. Sail Canada states that use by clubs for conducting races is deemed non-commercial.
Offered diagrams include windward/leeward courses (L, W, LA, WA, M), trapezoid and triangle courses (O, I, IO, TL, TW), Optimist team racing, CORK courses and boat-specific courses for classes such as WASZP, Moth, Formula Kite and iQFOiL.
