What can I wear and use on the field?

Under section 5 of the 2026-2027 Official Rules of Ultimate:

• Disc: sanctioned games must use a USA Ultimate-approved disc appropriate for the level of play.
• Clothing: any soft clothing that doesn't endanger others or give an unfair advantage. You must be distinguishable from the other team; matching uniforms and numbered jerseys are recommended for tournaments, and events can set uniform rules.
• Cleats: no metal baseball cleats, track spikes, or worn or broken studs with sharp edges.
• Braces and casts: allowed, but any hard or sharp parts that pose a meaningful risk to others must be covered and padded.
• Gloves: tacky gloves are legal.
• No electronics to players: team members can't use amplifiers or electronic devices to communicate with players on the field (medical devices are exempt). Sideline players and coaches may message each other.
• You can't use clothing or equipment to help a catch or block (for example, throwing a hat at the disc). Offense doing this is a turnover.

Your clothing, shoes and accessories count as part of you, so contact with them is contact with you.
