Under rule R7, if, before the delivery of the sixth stone of an end, a delivered stone directly or indirectly moves an opposition stone that is in the Free Guard Zone and touching the centre line to an off-centre-line position, or to a position outside the Free Guard Zone, the non-offending team may choose to:
- remove the delivered stone from play and replace all displaced stones to their earlier positions; or
- leave all stones where they came to rest.
If the stone is moved from the centre line to an out-of-play position, the Free Guard Zone rule R6(b) applies instead (the delivered stone is removed and displaced stones are replaced).
The no-tick rule does not apply to wheelchair curling or Mixed Doubles competitions (R7(c)).
