Travelling (Art. 25, "three pushes"):
- While holding the ball, you may take no more than 2 pushes on your wheels. A third push without dribbling, passing or shooting is travelling, a violation.
- Pivoting counts as part of the dribble, so it is also limited to 2 consecutive pushes without dribbling.
- Braking a wheel without moving your hand(s) forwards or backwards is not a push.
Dribbling (Art. 24). A dribble starts when, having gained control of the ball, you:
- push your large wheels and bounce the ball at the same time; or
- take one or two pushes with the ball resting on your lap (not between your knees) or in your hand, then bounce the ball. You may repeat this sequence as often as you like; or
- alternate the two methods; or
- throw, tap, roll or bounce the ball on the court, or deliberately throw it against the backboard, and touch it again before another player does.
Fumbling (accidentally losing and regaining the ball), tapping the ball away from other players, and deflecting a pass and gaining control are not dribbles.
